JOURNEY TO STARDOM

Reni started singing at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Choir, Kabba (Nig.) where her aunt had enrolled her just after her seventh birthday. In High School, Reni always sang solo at the school auditorium every other week and sometimes, performed duets with a friend; and at college, Reni continued as an active member of the college chapel choir, Chapel of Light, University of Ilorin (Nig.).

After graduating in 1991 with a combined Bachelor’s degree (Upper division) in English & Education, she served in the National Youth Service Corps (a one-year mandatory service to the nation by every Nigerian college graduate), in Lagos, Nigeria and naturally, she became a member of the NCCF (Nigerian Christian Corpers' Fellowship). There also, she was a choir member who often gave solo performances during meetings and these earned her the nickname "Sister Special song."
